7-11 + me = <3

I realize that I typically blog about things that make me think about other things and this is yet another time when that is the case. I am not sure if it is because I am highly notsalgic or because I compulsivly keep a log of random thoughts in a book of stuff where I keep even more conglomerates of random stuff. Maybe it is my fear of conventional scrapbooks mixed with my hatred for bad and ugly books and the clever way in which you can cover up pages of dissapointing text with mementos and pretty photos... Whatever the reason, I do this with a severe sense of urgency. Upon recent review, I noticed that I reference 7-11 lots and lots. Not a surprise, as I do heart them tremendously. Where else can you go for comforting snacks when you are lying in bed at night and you can't sleep or when you are lying in bed and you just want to think that something else is awake too...

No matter what the season, 7-11 is there. In additon to the multitude of snacks that I adore, they also have amazing so-bad-its-perfect coffee. As you can see from the "these things make me think of these things" list below, the mighty 7 has always been there, and usually even within walking distance.

I remember these things = because of these things:

Ex-boyfriends = winter, Modest Mouse, snow, coffee, chess, Cannibal Corpse, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Charleston, horror movies, video games--Marvel vs. Capcom, smoking cloves and drinking cheap booze, vintage suits, cold Chinese food, Halloween, sunrises and sunsets in various parts of the country, hot tea, Love and Rockets, Saigon Kick, licorice, long drives at night and 7-11 coffee, long walks at night with coffee.

College = My TI-85 graphing calculator, Nag Champa, the sound of espresso steamers, text books on my book shelf, Spearhead, insects, maps, computer programs with maps, the smell of hair dye, disco balls, burritos, autumn and leaves, bus fumes, 7-11, Morrissey, and Ramen.

High School = Burger King Whoppers w/out meat and the addition of fries, suicide sodas, Vans, Greenday, Tom Petty, soft pretzels, the mall, The Cure, stage make-up, haunted houses, mountain bikes, 7-11 and wine coolers, and summer.

Oh thank heaven. <3
