So, I was supposed to write this forever ago, but because I have lots of jobs and lots of things, I am just getting to it now...but its so worth the wait! Last month I went to visit Jason on the Ringling tour starting in Portland, OR and ending in Everett, WA.
This is Jason's favorite photo of us from the trip (and look at that gigantic iced tea):
I arrived in Portland at around noon, and just want to give mad props for Portland's amazing public transportation. I was able to get from the airport to downtown in about 20 min and because a technician was fixing the ticket machine for the train, I also got a free ticket. It was a total, "My baby takes the morning' train" moment. Woot! This is how we keep in touch and find each other, our little lifeline:
Anywho, this blog entry will mostly be photos. It goes without saying that most of our time together was spent holding demos outside of Ringling shows, however, kids have to eat, so we gained about 10 pounds and ate our ways through the west coast. We also were able to catch a late show of the new Rob Zombie Halloween movie (yay!!) and celebrate our one year and seven month anniversary at this lovely darkly romantic thai restaurant where we had bananas soaked in coconut milk with 2 spoons over candlelight...yum. Other highlights:The biggest napkin fan in the world:
Amazing vegan "chicken" fried steak:

A perfect soy mocha and vegan coconut cake:
The trip was amazing. I had no idea that blackberries basically grow everywhere in WA and OR and that there are so many that people treat them like weeds and chop the bushes down (shame on you people for doing that, btw. You have no idea how lucky you are).
I got to see my boy and mountains and meet beautiful kind people in Oregon and Washington who care about animals. Thanks to all the amazing activists for your hard work and dedication. You all inspire me everyday and are making a difference.
And to my lovely, you inspire me and I never have admired anyone as much. Smooches and dances by our pink Christmas tree are in order for the next time we meet. You and me against the world.
