I have found a new favorite website - MarketSaw I like it because its to the point, no frills and talks about what I love - 3D movies!!
Today, because of MarketSaw, I just found out that one of my favorite horror movies, from when I was a younger is being re-made in glorious 3D!
My Bloody Valentine, yes the movie that had 9 minutes cut out by the MPAA due to gore. - I really hope Lion's Gate stays true to the gore. If not, I wont be too upset because its 3D!
Sad news is we will have to wait until January 23rd, 2009 for its release.
I am in Cincinnati Ohio at the moment - protesting Ringling, etc - but I ran into some of my old friends, The A.K.A.s - - It was really good to see them again. They put on a great show for the folk here in Cincy.
They are going to be on tour for several more weeks so go check them out and become their Myspace friends - if you go see them tell them I sent you!

Youngstown, Ohio - This morning, former Palm Bay, Fla., police officer Blayne Doyle sent an urgent letter, on behalf of PETA, to Youngstown Police Chief Jimmy Hughes urging him to bar the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus from bringing dangerous elephants to Youngstown when the circus visits the city on March 7-9. Doyle's plea stems from a tragic incident in 1992, when, while on duty, he was forced to shoot to death an elephant named Janet after she went on a rampage while giving a "ride" to a mother and five children.
Doyle recently viewed video footage taken by PETA and wrote to Chief Hughes, "I was alarmed at how little control the handlers had over these huge animals and even more surprised that, given the lack of control, they continued to walk them into residential neighborhoods." The video shows several incidents where Ringling elephants became agitated while being walked through residential streets. It also shows elephants who do not respond to handlers' commands or wander off course and are aggressively poked and jabbed with steel-tipped bullhooks that dig into the elephants' tender skin--sometimes causing them to squeal in pain and bleed.
"The years of frustration and beatings that these elephants have endured at the hands of Ringling have turned them into ticking time bombs," says PETA Director Debbie Leahy. "The only way to ensure the safety of the city's residents and avoid another incident like the one in Palm Bay is to prohibit Ringling from bringing these animals to town in the first place."
PETA will protest the circus on opening night. For more information and to view the video footage, please visit PETA's Web site Circuses.com .
Blayne Doyle's letter to Youngstown Police Chief Jimmy Hughes follows.
February 25, 2008
Chief Jimmy F. Hughes
Youngstown Police Department
116 West Boardman St.
Youngstown, OH 44503
Dear Chief Hughes:
My name is Blayne Doyle, and I am a retired Palm Bay, Fla., police officer. In 1992, I was forced to shoot and kill a rampaging elephant named Janet, who had a mother and five children riding on her back when she ran amok. I am writing because I believe that there is compelling evidence that Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus has not gone far enough to ensure that the public is protected from especially dangerous elephants.
In early January, Ringling took a 5½-year-old male elephant named P.T. off the road after he allegedly attacked and injured a trainer, sending the trainer to the hospital. However, other unpredictable elephants remain on the road. The enclosed DVD shows disturbing footage of Ringling's elephants--several of whom are quite agitated--as they wander several feet away from handlers, walk onto residential lawns, stop and turn around in the middle of the street, nearly walk into a parked car, and generally ignore handlers' commands. Such unresponsiveness all too often results in the elephants being mishandled--including being struck with steel-tipped bullhooks. According to former Ringling employees, it is widely known internally that two elephants, Luna and Tonka, pose a particular danger. I urge you to notify the circus that these elephants cannot be brought to Youngstown.
When I reviewed this footage, I almost had to shut off the video. The cries from the elephants were the same as Janet's as she ran from the gunfire in Palm Bay. I was alarmed at how little control the handlers had over these huge animals and even more surprised that, given the lack of control, they continued to walk them into residential neighborhoods. If Ringling's handlers lose control of one of the elephants, they would more than likely lose control over most of them. The elephants would be loose, scared, and almost unstoppable, running through yards with people everywhere. Please keep in mind that I ran out of ammunition trying to contain just one rampaging elephant. I fear that not even all the ammunition carried by all the police officers working on a given day would be able to stop several rampaging elephants.
Thank you for your consideration. Removing elephants who pose a danger to the public would go a long way toward protecting your community.
Sincerely,
Blayne Doyle
Here is the video that Blayne Doyle refers to in his letter--
What better way to show your friends that you love them than by cooking up a fat morning vegan brunch! A vegan brunch is also a great way to let animals you love them--by not eating them.
One of my fav things to do is have late night tea parties, over the top veg sushi lunches and super cozy Sunday brunches. If a brunch is in your near future, try these yummy sausages along with some hashbrowns, tofu scramble, and mountains of yummy coffee, teas, Dr. Pepper, or whatever. xoxo
Vegan Lima Bean Sausages
Ingredients
1 cup cooked baby lima beans
1 ½ cup hot vegetable broth
¾ tsp ground dried sage
½ tsp dried thyme leaves
1 ½ cup vegan bread crumbs
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
Cornmeal
Extra salt, pepper, and sage to taste
Directions
Using a food processor or blender, blend lima beans to a coarse puree. Mix in vegetable broth and slowly mix in bread crumbs. When mixture has become a thick paste, add in the sage, thyme, pepper and salt. Set mixture aside.
On a large plate, spread out approximately ½ cup of cornmeal and dust with pepper, salt and ground sage. Set aside.
Using wet hands, begin making link shaped logs of the lima bean puree. One at a time, lightly roll on the plate of cornmeal to form a light breading. Set breaded sausages on a clean plate. Repeat until all of the puree has been formed into links. This will make approximately 10 links.
In a heavy skillet, add enough vegetable oil to generously coat the bottom. Using medium high heat, fry the links in batches of about 5 at a time. Watch them and turn them frequently until crispy brown on all sides, this will take about 4-5 min. Monitor constantly to make sure they do not burn. Once browned, remove from skillet and drain on a paper towel.
You can always access the store on the left hand side in the section 'Zombie Popcorn Store' - This is going to be a growing list and soon you will have a one stop shop for all your home theater/3D needs. So keep checking back!
Hannah Montana and U2 released 3D concerts this year. They both came out on the Real D, U2 3D was also released in IMAX3D.
(The Real D 3-D system was invented by Lenny Lipton, an American inventor. It is based on the push-pull electro-optical modulator called the ZScreen.
The technique that Real D uses is comparable to the traditional method of 3-D imaging which uses linearly polarized glasses. The traditional method works by projecting two differently linearly polarized images onto the same screen, polarized at +45° and -45° from the horizontal, which are then filtered by linearly polarized glasses worn by the audience.)
I have to say that the Hannah Montana 3D was way better than the U2 3D. Don't get me wrong U2 was a great film/concert but I was a little let down with the 3D effects with U2.
Several times during U23D, Bono seemed very flat, like he was a cardboard cut out in a 3D environment. This could happen due to several different reasons. It could be that the projectors were not adjusted properly, or that during filming or conversion were not done properly. (I wont bore you with the tech side of these reason.) The 3D effects were more depth than 'in your face' - I totally prefer the 'in your face' type 3D.
Hannah Montana 3D was not perfect but it seemed to have everything that makes 3D movies work- just no excitement or action. The film itself, unless you are a Hannah Montana fan, was way boring. As you know, I will go see any 3D movie no matter how bad it might be.
The best part of both of these concerts/films was the previews of upcoming 3D movies, and yes the trailers were in 3D.
One of the films, Coraline from the director of 'Nightmare Before Christmas' - It looks awesome - check it out...
Here is the trailer -

On the morning of January 31, PETA sent an urgent letter to Chester A. Gipson, deputy administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) animal care unit, urging him to immediately remove from the road several elephants traveling with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus because the elephants could pose a grave danger to the public. PETA’s request comes after a panel of experts reviewed video footage of Ringling’s red unit animal walks. The experts were alarmed when they saw Ringling handlers frequently lose control of the 4-ton elephants. In video clips from five different cities, the elephants are seen straying from handlers, walking onto residents’ lawns, and failing to respond to commands. The elephants also become agitated (which can cause them to run amok) when they are aggressively mishandled—including being struck with steel-tipped bullhooks to the point of crying out.
PETA sought the opinions of elephant experts as well as Blayne Doyle, a now-retired Palm Bay, Fla., police officer. In 1992, Doyle was forced to shoot and kill an elephant named Janet, who rampaged while a mother and five children were riding on the animal’s back. “I almost had to shut off the video,” said Doyle. “The cries from the elephants were the same as Janet’s as she ran from the gunfire in Palm Bay. I was alarmed at how little control the handlers had over these huge animals—walking them into residential neighborhoods is insane.”
Les Schobert—who has more than 30 years of experience in Asian elephant care and management, including handling and training—states, “The trainers do not appear to have adequate control over the elephants. … Collectively, there’s roughly 80,000 pounds of potentially dangerous animals being walked in a public area in an unsafe manner. It’s reckless and unnecessary to put the public’s safety in jeopardy purely for our amusement.”
“Ringling’s abusive treatment of elephants has made them ticking time bombs—as was evidenced by a reported Ringling elephant attack on a trainer this month,” says PETA Director Debbie Leahy. “We’re asking the USDA to remove these animals from travel before another bloody scene like the one in Palm Bay is repeated.”
