When I was much much younger than I am today – I had 4th row, center seats, to my very first arena concert which was Iron Madien’s Seventh Son of the Seventh Son Tour in 1988. I was a huge Iron Madien fan at the age of 13.
The years have gone by and I don’t listen to Iron Madien as much as I did back then in fact, I can’t remember when the last time I listen to them. So, it was no suprise to me to see that Iron Madien’s front man, Bruce Dickinson co-wrote a film with director Julian Doyle, who directed Maiden’s 1988 video “Can I Play With Madness?” (side note: Julian Doyle also edited Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life, Life of Brian and Time Bandits.)
The film that Bruce and Julian created is entitled, Crowley. (Also known as, Chemical Madness in other parts of the world.) Here is a blurb.
He was known as ” The Wickedest Man in the World” or simply ‘The Beast’. More than 60 years after his death, the demonic life and works of British occultist Aleister Crowley has continued to capture our darkest imaginations. In this provocative supernatural thriller co -written by legendary Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson, a virtual reality experiment gone wrong sends the soul of the infamous madman into the body of a shy university professor. But even as Crowly creates all – new orgies of depraved pleasures and black magic, is he now preparing to unleash the ultimate occult event upon the world?
