Frankenweenie remake in 3D

As it stands now, on October 5, 2011 we will get a 3D remake of Tim Burton’s film, Frankenweenie.

For those who remember, will know that the original Frankenweenie was a  black and white short done by Mr. Burton.   If you haven’t seen it you can watch it below or just read this plot description. [singlepic id=1519 w=320 h=240 float=right]

A heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

Anyway, Tim Burton is remaking the original into a full length stop motion 3D film it is said to have over 200 puppets and sets were created for the film.  The typical Burton cast will return to be voice actors, you know people like,  Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, and Martin Landau- to just name a few.   Frankenweenie will stay true to the original black and white format.

Zombie Popcorn will keep you up-to-date as more info become available.  In the meantime, watch the original short, Frankenweenie.
