MarsCon is a very special event because it brings people from all different walks of the Sci-fi community together for an entire weekend and fills our heads with a world of awesomeness.

To lead up to MarsCon we are going to highlight some of the guests who will be attending.  Today we are highlighting, Rob Floyd.

Many of you know Rob Floyd because of the events he puts together in Chesapeake, Virginia – Monster Fest and Fantasmo Cult Cinema Explosion, or by his love of the Wolfman.   Zombie Popcorn had the privilege to sit down and talk to Rob at Monster Fest several years back.

Rob has worked in the Virginia area for as long as anyone can remember celebrating the classic horror and sci-fi genre. Never once has he been selfish of his love for these genres because he opens all his events to the public for EVERYONE to attend for  FREE!

His current events, as mentioned before are Monster Fest and Fantasmo Cult Cinema Explosion.  Monster Fest is the annual one day horror convention held in early October. Started in 2003 by Clayton Sayre and Rob Floyd, Monster Fest continues to grow bigger and better each year with vendors, panel discussions, special guests, a horror costume contest and a quadruple horror movie marathon!

Fantasmo Cult Cinema Explosion is a once a month interactive film experience, like the old days.  Team Fantasmo brings to you, up on the big screen, some of the best and worst cult movies of all time. Along with a double feature, door prizes and food at every show, there are special surprises at some shows.

Team Fantasmo will also bring you “Films of the Apocalypse” this year at MarsCon 2012  on Saturday Night starting at 11pm so don’t miss out!

We will continue to update you as more information becomes available so keep your eyes on Zombie Popcorn as we bring you  ALL ACCESS of MarsCon 2012!

Keep in mind that dates and panelists are subject to change.  If you would like to attend MarsCon, you can head over to their site to learn more about registration.
