Ringling Beats Elephants, 2009

If you been with Psychosomatic Rants for a while, you know that I spent a good time on the road following and filming the animals at Ringling Bros. Circus.

I introduced you to several of the elephant handlers and the elephants, on the blog and in this video, Psychosomatic Hallucinations.  Now the very same handlers have re-surfaced in a brand new video.

In 2009, PETA went undercover inside Ringling Bros. and found that workers beat and whipped elephants and tigers dozens of times while the circus performed around the country.

Here is the new video

What can you do to help?

  1. Don’t attend Ringling Bros. Circus and any other circus that has animal acts, because every time you purchase a ticket – you pay for the abuse to continue.
  2. Write to the USDA and ask them to remove these elephants from the road.  Not good at writing?   Click here to send a form email to the USDA.
  3. Help Stop Ringling Bros.’ Expansion in Coney Island – Click here to send a letter to New York City officials and Taconic Investments’ CEO.
